The best place to stay up to date with village news, Flax Bourton Parish Council have set up the Flax Bourton Google Group for use by the community. 

HOW TO JOIN

If you’re unfamiliar with Google’s services, creating an account and joining a Google group might initially seem daunting. But don’t worry, we’re here to help! We have set out instructions below both for if you already have a Google account and for if you don’t have a Google account.

IF YOU DON’T ALREADY HAVE A GOOGLE ACCOUNT:

  1. Go to https://accounts.google.com/signin
  2. Click Create account
  3. Follow the instructions to create an account
  4. Go to https://groups.google.com/g/flaxbourton
  5. Click Ask to join group.

IF YOU DO ALREADY HAVE A GOOGLE ACCOUNT:

  1. Go to https://groups.google.com/g/flaxbourton
  2. Click Ask to join group.

GUIDELINES FOR USE

  • It’s important to remember that messages posted in the village should interest everyone, and not contain any private or personal information
  • While it is acceptable to post about local services that could benefit the community, it should be done sparingly
  • It’s important to avoid sharing political views, although it’s acceptable to publicise upcoming meetings or elections that may be relevant to the community
  • All messages should be respectful, polite, and non-discriminatory, to maintain a positive and welcoming environment for all village members.

Flax Bourton Parish Council will process your personal data in order to administer the Google Group and will not use it for any other reason. For more information about how the council uses your personal data please visit our Policies and Procedures page.

 By joining the Google Group, you will also be giving your personal data to Google.  Google will be a data controller for that data. You can find out more about how Google processes your personal data by visiting https://policies.google.com/privacy. The group will be monitored on a regular basis by volunteer and other moderators on behalf of the Parish Council and all posts fall under the moderation of the Parish Council.
